Use an alert to notify a visitor of important information requiring immediate attention.

Limit alert content to a dozen or so words, and avoid exclamation points (!). It’ll keep your message concise, effective, and professional. Provide a link to additional information as necessary as that’ll help keep your alert brief.

Color can communicate urgency and it becomes an important consideration when it comes to alerts. Some alerts have a longer lifespan, and those that may remain up for months benefit from a cooler color treatment.
