Faculty honored for achievements as teachers, advisers, and scholars


Professors recognized for accomplishments in their academic departments

Clark University faculty members have been recognized for their outstanding work as teachers, advisers, and researchers. The annual awards were presented during an Oct. 19 ceremony at Harrington House.

“Exceptional work is taking place across the University in our classrooms, labs, offices, and departments,” Provost Sebastián Royo said in a message to the community, “and it is essential that we pause to acknowledge and celebrate it.”

“All of the nominees were incredibly worthy, and their amazing achievements should be celebrated as well,” he added.

This year’s honorees include:

David P. Angel Senior Faculty Award

Oliver and Dorothy Hayden Junior Faculty Fellowship Award

  • Kathleen Palm Reed (Psychology)

Hodgkins Junior Faculty Awards

Rosalind S. Roberts Faculty Award

  • Suzanne Scoggins (Political Science)

Outstanding Undergraduate Teacher of the Year

Outstanding Undergraduate Adviser of the Year

Outstanding Graduate Teacher of the Year

  • Karen Frey (Geography)

Outstanding Graduate Adviser of the Year

  • Asha Best (Geography)
  • Amy Heberle (Psychology)

Additionally, the ceremony honored faculty members who received promotions during the 2021–22 academic year.
