Mission, Philosophy, and Purpose

The Office of Human Resources and Organizational Excellence (HROE) is made up of two (2) primary units: Human Resources Operations and Organizational Excellence. Across the function, advanced forward-thinking strategies shape a culture and employee experience that promotes an engaged and inclusive campus environment. The two units within HROE have unique areas of responsibility, but through shared planning and execution, as well as a spirit of collaboration, HROE creates a one-team approach.

Within the overall HROE rubric, Human Resources Operations focuses most specifically on ensuring that members of the campus community are aware of and have access to key resources, including: benefits, accessibility and accommodations, employee safety, HRIS, wellness programs, policies, and compliance. Organizational Excellence focuses most specifically on aspects of the employee experience including: employee recruitment, onboarding, employee relations, performance management, training and development, and partnering with ODEI to provide a positive employee experience.

Prioritizing the employee experience, members of the HROE are mindful of the needs of Clark’s employees and serve as a conduit connecting employees to the available tools, technology, resources, and support for success.  To empower employees to be the best they can be, services and support are provided to the campus community with thoughtfulness and intention.

Working collaboratively with leaders throughout the campus, the office of HROE establishes, implements, and communicates policies, procedures, and systems to support a high performing, positive, diverse, and inclusive environment and culture across the campus in support of the University’s mission.
