Education, M.Ed.

The Master of Education (M.Ed.) is designed for educators who wish to deepen their practice and understanding of student learning.

Master’s

The program aligns with with the Education Department’s mission to promote transformative education practices, and with the University’s emphasis on socially engaged learning, through decades of work with Worcester partner schools.

Program curriculum focuses on key concepts, methods, and tools in educational research, with emphasis on research as a path to improve educational practice, and promote equitable learning across diverse educational settings.

A Uniquely Flexible Course of Study

Program curriculum includes ten course units that can be tailored to the background and career paths of each student.

Five Education courses including Research Methods of Educational Inquiry I and II
Five approved electives: interdisciplinary courses that support your interests, curriculum, or practice, including up to two directed studies
Culminate your learning with a master’s thesis
Study Full or Part-time
Complete course requirements in a little as one year

Successful applicants will possess a strong academic record, and professional experience working within an educational setting, or with students in out-of-school programming.

Application materials include academic transcripts, letters of recommendation, and a statement of purpose. International students must demonstrate English language proficiency.
