Speakers to share best practices for effective teaching and learning
Clark faculty and staff are invited to attend “Light in Springtime: A Celebration of Clark Faculty Research and Creativity,” during which five Clark faculty members will discuss their creativity and research in the areas of teaching and learning.
The program is sponsored by Goddard Library and the Center for Excellence in Teaching, Assessment, and Learning. “We are highlighting selected faculty who not only do innovative teaching but also research and publish on what it means to do outstanding teaching in a variety of contexts,” says University Librarian Laura Robinson.
Professors set to present include:
- Katerine Bielaczyc (Education): learning communities and sensemaking
- Nigel Brissett (Sustainability and Social Justice): sustainability mindsets in education
- John Dobson (School of Management): entrepreneurship education
- Charles Jakobsche (Chemistry): open educational resources in chemistry
- Nadia Ward (Mosakowski Institute for Public Enterprise): social-emotional learning interventions
The presenters will each have no more than five minutes and three slides to share what motivates them to do their work, why it’s important to our students and our world, and what their future projects are.
“This event is a way to bring faculty and staff from all parts of campus together to learn something new about each other, celebrate the work of our faculty, and have a great time enjoying each other’s company,” Robinson said.
