School of Business Holds First Virtual Alumni Gathering of 2021
On Tuesday, January 19 a group of School of Business alumni came together virtually to meet Dean Alan Eisner, PhD, and hear about some of the upcoming plans and goals for School of Business. Alumni came from as near as Worcester and as far away as Singapore for the one-hour event. Also speaking was longtime School of Business professor, Dr. Laura Graves.

Both Professor Graves and Dean Eisner touched on School of Business’s mission to be the business school leader in social innovation and education. The two explained the recent re-design of School of Business’s MBA program to be a shorter, more streamlined program, but still retaining in the curriculum the ethical, social, and environmental responsibilities of management.
“We believe there is a strong niche in the marketplace for an MBA with social sensibility,” Dean Eisner noted. “Further, these changes to our MBA will enable us offer a fully online program in the near future.”
Other goals include raising the business school’s reputation and rankings and continuing to grow its undergraduate, graduate, and online program offerings. Dean Eisner also stressed how wonderful it’s been to see many of our alumni giving back to the school as guest speakers in classes and at career events.
“We are so grateful whenever any of you can donate your time and expertise to helping our current students, especially during this pandemic,” he said to the alumni. “We want to give current students a great experience, regardless of whether their courses are online or in person, and many of you have already helped do that.”
Alumni who wish to join a course or event as a guest speaker can contact a specific faculty member or Kelly Kochis in the Stevenish Career Management Center.
Future University events are listed here and you can follow School of Business-specific events via the web site as well. Financial donations to the Student Success Fund mentioned by Dean Eisner can be made here.
