The work students do in Visual and Performing Arts requires a wide range of spaces — studios, stages, darkrooms, screening rooms, recording facilities, and galleries. Clark’s facilities are designed for serious creative and scholarly work, and they are active nearly every day and night throughout the academic year. The campus community and the public are welcome at regular exhibitions, screenings, concerts, and performances held in these venues.
Traina Center for the Arts and Razzo Hall
The Traina Center is a creative center of the department — home to painting, drawing, printmaking, and design studios; gallery; screen studies classrooms; and a 200-seat theater. As a venue for public concerts, film screenings, exhibitions, and lectures, it serves the campus and the wider community.
Schiltkamp Gallery
Visit the Gallery to view work by student, faculty, and visiting professional artists throughout the year. Clark student interns help develop, install, and maintain each of the exhibitions — gaining hands-on curatorial experience in a professional setting.
Estabrook Hall
In Estabrook Hall’s practice rooms, rehearsal spaces, recording studio, and classrooms, Clark music students can practice, perform, and immerse themselves in all genres of music seven days a week, in the company of other musicians.
The Center for Media Arts, Computing, and Design
The Center is the production home for Visual and Performing Arts students. The facility houses a video production studio, editing lab, screening room and mix stage, graphic design lab, maker space and music recording studio. This is where senior thesis films are made, documentary projects are cut, and interactive media projects come to life.
Media Arts Study Hub
The research and viewing home for screen studies and media culture and the arts students, the hub houses our film and media collection, viewing stations, a group screening room, and a repository of past student work.
Little Center and Michelson Theater
The Little Center hums with set building and costume construction, rehearsals and performances nearly every day and night of the academic year. Home to the theater arts program, it houses the Michelson Theater, the Experimental Theater, a space for student work and new play development, a costume design shop, and a set-building workshop.
