In May of 2006, Clark University broke ground on Blackstone Hall, a new apartment style residence hall. This state of the art facility opened to students for the 2007-2008 academic year, and primarily houses juniors and seniors. Blackstone Hall, located along Beaver Street and Florence Street, houses 204 students in 43 apartment units. Each unit houses 4 or 6 students in a mix of double and single rooms. Blackstone Hall is located on the south side of campus adjacent to the Lasry Center for Bioscience. It is also the closest residence facility to the Dolan Field House.

Please note because of the nearly endless variety of room sizes and shapes of the apartments, we cannot provide specific room or dimensions. 

Blackstone Hall features modern amenities such as central air conditioning and full kitchens with dishwashers. Throughout the building are numerous study and social spaces, including study lounges, comfortable seating areas, and a large social lounge . The Blackstone Hall laundry room is located on the third floor which is free to use for all residential students.

Blackstone Hall is comprised of 51 double rooms and 102 single rooms. There are Resident Advisers in Blackstone Hall. All Rooms are equipped with beds and mattresses (extra long twin), desks, chairs, bookshelves, built in closets, and window shades. Blackstone also offers high speed internet service (wired and wireless).

Blackstone Hall apartments feature a shared kitchen and common space, as well as 1 to 1.5 bathrooms depending on the unit type. Kitchen facilities are of the highest quality. Maple cabinetry and Corian countertops are accented by tile backsplashes, under mount sinks, range hood microwaves, and full size dishwashers, oven/ranges, and refrigerators. Common rooms include couches, and chairs, and tables. Common rooms are carpeted while the rest of the apartment units feature durable and long lasting synthetic hardwood flooring.

Blackstone Hall also has an elevator, several ADA compliant apartments, as well as automatic door openers on the main entrance of the building. If you believe you need a housing accommodation, please contact Student Accessibility Services.

 

Semi-private bathrooms and showers are in each apartment. The number of toilets and showers depend on the number of students in a given apartment. There is also one public gender inclusive single stalled bathroom with no shower located on the third floor near the laundry facilities.
