Erica Tortolani completed a PhD in Communication with a concentration in Film Studies at the University of Massachusetts Amherst in 2021.  Together with Martin F. Norden, she has published the edited volume ReFocus: The Films of Paul Leni.  Her work has appeared in publications such as the journals Monstrum, Short Film Studies, and Jump Cut, to name a few, as well as books like Bloody Women!.  Her research will also appear in the forthcoming publications Global Animated Horror and Style, Form, and the Slasher Film.
