Celebrating Excellence: The School of Business’ Beta Alpha Psi Installation and Induction
Clark University School of Business was proud to honor its high achieving finance, accounting, and analytics students this spring with induction into its newly established chapter of the Beta Alpha Psi (BAP) Honor Society. BAP is the international honor society for financial information students enrolled in finance, accounting, and analytics programs, and who attend business schools accredited by the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB). At a ceremony in April, 59 exceptional Clark graduate and undergraduate students were inducted and the Chapter was formally installed.
Established in 1919, BAP has 346 chapters worldwide and over 300,000 members. Clark University became the 347th chapter to join the organization and its global network of students and alumni dedicated to upholding the highest standards in the finance fields. The University’s chapter will be known as Omicron Beta.
Joining the ceremony were Dr. Patricia Poli, the 2023-24 President-elect for Beta Alpha Psi, and Avneet Nagra, Advocate from the Atlantic Coast Chapter, as well as the School of Business leadership, including Dr. David Jordan, Dean; Andrea Aiello, Associate Dean, and Laura Burgess, Assistant Dean, as well as faculty and staff.
“This installation has been a long time coming,” said Burgess, who oversaw the students’ work as they progressed through the steps to launch a chapter. “All of the credit goes to our students and student leaders for the hard work they put in to start our Beta Alpha Psi Chapter and for continuing to meet the expectations for establishing it.”
Burgess specifically credited Nehemie Joseph, Alhassane Yattara, Pusetso Zacharia, Shweta Wadhwani, Rupesh Kandel, Summer Li and Yashwant Raut, all of whom graduated last year, with paving the way for the establishment of their Omicron Chapter. “I could not be more proud of their efforts,” she said.
“It is a pleasure for me to have the opportunity to install the Omicron Beta Chapter of Beta Alpha Psi at Clark University,” Nagra stated. “This installation is the culmination of a lengthy petitioning period. Those of you who are to be initiated have demonstrated the ability to successfully conduct the activities of a Beta Alpha Psi chapter. We commend you for your commitment to Beta Alpha Psi and congratulate you on this noteworthy accomplishment
Following the official installation of Clark’s Omicron Beta chapter was the induction of the students. Standing before their peers, their faculty and staff of the School of Business, the newly inducted members recited their pledge to uphold the BAP values and embrace its legacy of excellence through moral and ethical service and behavior.
Dr. Patricia Poli added, “Your future association with Beta Alpha Psi should help you to identify and develop those qualities necessary for successful professional careers, such as: loyal service, respect for confidence, professional bearing, responsible behavior, and the ability to communicate with others.”
