CLAA Co-Leader

Leonardo (Leo) R. Cuervo (he/him), graduated from Clark University in 2015 with a double major in Biology and Psychology. While at Clark, Leo participated in student government and explored interdisciplinary interests across the sciences and the arts, including coursework as an art minor and early modeling work. Following graduation, he moved to Los Angeles, where his professional path spanned multiple fields and ultimately led him into healthcare operations and administration.

During the height of the COVID-19 pandemic, Leo worked within healthcare systems responding to the crisis. His contributions to COVID prevention and patient safety efforts were formally recognized with an award honoring his role in protecting communities and saving lives. He later earned a Master of Healthcare Administration in 2022, strengthening his expertise in systems leadership, equity, and organizational strategy.

In 2021, Leo began pursuing acting professionally, building on his creative background and interdisciplinary training. Since then, he has developed a growing body of industry relationships and signed with a talent agency following the conclusion of the SAG strikes. He continues to expand his work in film and television and is actively preparing for upcoming roles.

As an alum, Leo is passionate about leadership that bridges science, creativity, and social impact, with a strong commitment to mentorship and inclusive community-building. Through his involvement with CLAA, he aims to support LGBTQ+ Clarkies across generations, strengthen alumni engagement, and contribute to a university community grounded in purpose, ambition, and belonging.
