The Clark University Undergraduate Academic Board oversees Clark’s undergraduate curriculum. UAB seeks to support faculty and departments while encouraging academic rigor and innovation in the undergraduate curriculum across the university as a whole.  UAB approves new courses, new academic programs, and changes to existing courses. UAB also reviews university-wide academic policies.

What needs to be submitted to UAB for approval?

Proposed new courses

Reviewed in conjunction with the Dean of the College, new course proposals are due:

  • Summer & Fall Semesters – 2nd Monday in February
  • Spring Semester – 4th Friday in September

New course proposals should be submitted via Acalog, by your department’s Acalog editor.

Proposed majors, minors, and concentrations

New academic programs are reviewed each semester. For each academic year:

  • Fall deadline – 1st Monday in November
  • Spring deadline – 1st Monday in February

Changes to courses

Changes that impact university requirements (such as the addition of a CorePLS or DI designation) should also be sent to UAB.  Change to Existing Course forms must be submitted for approval by the 2nd Monday of February and take affect in the upcoming academic year. They should be submitted via Acalog, by your department’s Acalog editor.

Changes to an existing major, minor or concentration

Changes included the number of required courses, the number of courses required at different levels, changes to minimum grade requirements, or the addition of required additional minors (or prohibited double majors).
