Go far, together
Students in the Global Accelerate, Medieval Mediterranean Cities, take a short break during a tour of Alhambra palace in Granada, Spain.

In the Leir Program’s Medieval Mediterranean Cities course, a group of Clark students spent a month traveling through Spain and Turkey with art history professor Naomi Pitamber, tracing the region’s layered history from the Royal Alcázar of Sevilla to the Aqueduct of Valens in Istanbul.
They studied architecture in the morning and got hopelessly lost in the Grand Bazaar in the afternoon. They compared notes on flamenco and Ballet Folklórico, argued about the historical accuracy of Troy over pizza, and found a the perfect parting gift for their professor — a mug shaped like an Ionic column capital.
