Curriculum mapping helps you visualize connections between courses, assessments, and learning outcomes across your entire program
Overview of Curriculum Mapping
We aim to make students’ learning visible—within individual courses and across the curriculum. Curriculum mapping helps faculty see how students build knowledge and skills over time, strengthen key learning outcomes, and demonstrate mastery through signature work. In our curriculum design, we:
- Introduce (I): Present new concepts and skills.
- Reinforce (R): Provide multiple opportunities to practice and apply learning.
- Master (M): Guide students to demonstrate deep understanding and proficiency.
Curriculum maps are living documents that help faculty examine how the sequence of courses supports students in achieving program learning outcomes and engaging meaningfully in their educational journey.
