Directors of documentary about 2014 protests will lead conversations about current state of Black lives, equality
Filmmaker Damon Davis, right, talks to Toby Sisson, associate professor of studio art, before his 2018 talk at Clark.
Filmmaker Damon Davis visited the Clark University campus in March 2018 for a screening of his film “Whose Streets?,” an account of the protests that followed the 2014 fatal police shooting of 18-year-old Michael Brown. Davis co-directed with Sabaah Folayan.
On Friday, July 3, Davis is hosting a free screening of the film and three live conversations on the state of the world and current movement in support of Black lives and equality. The Clark community has been invited to join the creators of the film and special guests for “Whose Streets Takeover: From Uprising to Independence,” a deep dive into the lessons offered by the documentary.
“Whose Streets?” will be free to view for 24 hours beginning at midnight on July 3.
