Where can you apply your strengths to help?
We provide a setting for you to experiment and contribute to ongoing research on campus.
Undergraduate Research Fellowship
This program provides research assistantships for undergraduate students working on faculty-led research, public service, or creative projects directly related to one or more of the Center’s core research themes and the intersections of these areas of study:
- race and racism,
- gender and sexuality,
- peace and conflict studies.
The goal is for students to work one-on-one with faculty—or to join faculty research groups—to develop research skills.

Travel grants
The Center for Gender, Race and Area Studies offers many travel grants for students presenting at conferences on topics relating to the center’s core research areas. Applications are accepted from September to May.

Asian Studies Study Abroad Award
The Asian Studies program invites applications for the Asian Studies Study Abroad Award. To be eligible, applicants must be undergraduate students at Clark who are majoring or minoring in Asian Studies and intend to study abroad in Asia. The $500 award can be applied to costs associated with studying abroad such as airfare or other living expenses.

Graduate opportunities
The Center for Gender, Race and Area Studies occasionally has funding for graduate students. Opportunities will be posted here periodically.
