Jason Rossi is an independent documentary cinematographer and filmmaker based in Providence, Rhode Island. Early on, he cut his teeth as a staff photojournalist in newsprint and in portrait photography. Photography remains a core aspect of his career, although it has evolved over time to become a blend of commercial, nonprofit, and independent documentary filmmaking. Most recently, he was the cinematographer on the feature-length documentary film, Omar Sosa’s 88 Well-Tuned Drums (2022), directed by Soren Sorensen. Jason routinely engages in documentary-focused creative collaborations and client work as well. Some current and past clients include DeepWater Wind, Brown University, HopeHealth RI, State Farm Neighborhood Sessions, The White Ally Toolkit, Harvesting Rhode Island, Gloria Gemma Breast Cancer Resource Foundation, and more. He also spends time serving as an adjunct professor for the Film Studies program at Rhode Island College in Providence, RI and for the Screen Studies program at Clark University in Worcester, MA.
