Mehedi Hasan Oni

Visiting Assistant Professor, Economics

Mehedi Hasan Oni studies macroeconomics with a focus on inequality, environmental and energy economics, and public finance. His research examines how macroeconomic shocks and public policies affect households across the income and wealth distribution using quantitative macroeconomic models informed by microdata and econometric methods. His current work focuses on the distributional effects of energy price shocks, climate policies, income taxation, and trade policies.

At Clark University, Oni teaches Ph.D. Macroeconomics, Principles of Economics, Economic Forecasting, and Energy Economics.

Before joining Clark, he was a Visiting Assistant Professor at University of Arkansas. He received his B.A. and M.A. in Economics from University of Dhaka, Bangladesh, and earned his Ph.D. in Economics from University of Houston.
