Professor Gutmann-Gonzalez is a Chilean poet and novelist working at the intersections of text, performance, archive, and translation. They specialize in poetry, experimental fiction, and Latinx literature. They are the author of the forthcoming poetry collections O/CCULT (winner of the Omnidawn 1st/2nd Book Prize) and Out, Little Spear! (winner of the Joe W. Bratcher Prize and forthcoming from Host Publications), the poetry chapbook A/An (End of the Line Press), and the novel La Pava (Ediciones Inubicalistas). They hold an MFA in Poetry from Cornell University and their writing has appeared in the 2021 Best New Poets Anthology, Colorado Review, West Branch, AGNI, Georgia Review, Quarterly West, DIAGRAM and other literary journals. Winner of the 2018 Boulevard Emerging Poets Prize, they have been awarded fellowships from the Bucknell Seminar for Younger Poets, Lambda Writing Retreat for Emerging LGBT Voices, TAKT Residency in Berlin, Center for Book Arts, Frost Place Conference on Poetry, the Studios at MASS MoCA, CantoMundo, and MacDowell. They founded and run the Anderson House Reading Series, which hosts readings by BIPOC, queer, and trans writers. They are currently working on Ushabti, a novella about a drunken beggar in rural Chile who believes he is King Tut.
