ClarkU provides robust and dynamic campus-wide leadership opportunities for all students. These include but are not limited to: fall and spring club involvement fairs and trainings, resident and peer adviser trainings, leadership seminars, and a variety of student employment opportunities.
Emerging Leaders Institute
Are you interested in learning more about leadership, discovering new skills, and meeting like-minded students? Are you considering becoming a student leader at Clark, such as a Resident Adviser, Peer Mentor, ACE/Connections Mentor, or student club exec board member? The Emerging Leaders Institute (ELI) program is a free workshop series that will help you gain a deeper understanding of your values, identity, conflict management, communication skills, and leadership style. The Emerging Leaders Institute is open to undergraduate students of any academic interest, and no prior leadership experience is required to participate. Upon completion of the workshop series, ELI participants will receive a certificate, pin, and recommendations for leadership roles on campus.
Identity Leadership Retreat
The Identity Leadership Retreat (ILR) is a weekend-long leadership building opportunity co-sponsored by the Office of Student Leadership & Programming and the Office of Identity, Student Engagement, and Access (ISEA). Held each fall, ILR is a weekend-long experience geared toward undergraduate students who want to explore the meaning of leadership and their own intersecting identities.
Student Leader Common Application
Interested in being a student leader? These roles offer the opportunity to support peers and build community, either in the residence halls or with new incoming students through orientation programs. Launched every November with applications due in the spring semester, the Student Leader Common Application allows undergraduate students the opportunity to apply to be an ACE/Connections Mentor, Resident Adviser and/or Peer Mentor. Information sessions are offered in the fall and spring semesters to provide more details for the application and interview process.
