Sophomore Summit, Clark Experience Expo, Career Fair upcoming
The Career Connections Center is launching its spring semester programming next week with the Climate, Sustainability, and Global Change Career Exploration Week. The planned events offer students opportunities to learn about potential career paths, meet alumni working in related fields, and explore experiential opportunities.
Students in all majors and class years are invited to attend the week’s events.
Alumni in Environmental and Sustainability Roles
Tuesday, Jan. 20, 6 to 7:30 p.m.; ASEC 202
A panel of Clark alumni will share their experiences navigating Clark and beyond, drawing on a range of professions. This is an opportunity for students to learn more about the day-to-day of various careers, expand their networks, and speak with professionals currently in the field.
Sustainability, Climate, and Global Change Employer Pop-up
Wednesday, Jan. 21, 1 to 3 p.m.; Grace and Lurie conference rooms (Higgins University Center, first floor)
Representatives from sustainability-related companies and organizations will be on hand to answer questions about internship and job opportunities. Students can investigate career directions and build professional networks.
Student Internship Panel: Sustainability, Climate, and Global Change
Thursday, Jan. 22; noon to 1 p.m.; ASEC 111
Whether for academic credit, supported through the CCC’s Opportunity Funding, or otherwise, the value of an internship can be significant, setting students up for better employment and networking opportunities, and clarifying academic and professional goals. Students who have completed internships with climate-related organizations will share their experiences and answer questions.
Future career exploration weeks will focus on arts, media, design, and communications (Feb. 9–13), government, international affairs, and law (Feb. 23–27), and nonprofit, human services, and education (April 6–10).
