College Show on view through April 12
Three Clarkies have placed in ArtsWorcester’s 22nd College Show, their pieces standing out among 75 works in the show.
Juror Andrea Olmstead, assistant professor of art in ceramics, sculpture, and drawing at Fitchburg State University, awarded five prize winners and four honorable mentions. Danny Goodman ’28 and Ilana Londry ’26 are among the prize winners and Carter Peterson ’26 received an honorable mention.

Goodman had three works in the show and placed for “Triumph From Days Gone By,” a drawing of a baseball trophy made with colored pencil on Bristol paper. A pitcher on Clark’s baseball team, Goodman says he’s discovered a fusion between athletics and artistry.
“Having the ability to express my athletics history and love for baseball in physical, artistic form is a superpower I’ve been blessed to have,” says Goodman. Seeing this work awarded felt full circle. “In my writer’s statement for this piece in the show, I mentioned how the trophy that once was a triumphant award is now just collecting dust in a box with more trophies, each almost the exact same as the next. Now, this piece has given me an award much more memorable than a piece of plastic stating I’m a champion.”
Londry placed for “Two,” made with graphite, and Peterson earned an honorable mention for “Protect Trans Kids,” acrylic on canvas.
Fourteen Clarkies have works on display in the show, which was open to undergraduate students of any major studying at any Massachusetts college or university. In addition to Goodman, Londry, and Peterson, Clarkies with pieces in the show are Kaylie Allen ’27, Amelia Clark ’26, Skye Donaldson ’26, Ali Faria ’26, Sam Fuentes ’26, Rachel Harvie ’27, Ivy Joyal ’26, Jonah Lee ’26, Sophie Lee ’26, Kiely MacDonald ’26, and Vivian Paiz ’27.
The show is on view through April 12 in ArtsWorcester’s Davis Art Gallery on the third floor of 44 Portland St. The gallery is free and open Wednesday through Sunday from noon to 5 p.m.
