Photo Essay: Fresh Check

This fall marks Clark's third annual Fresh Check Day, a national event dedicated to mental health promotion and suicide prevention. The activities, including games, interactive booths, and conversation prompts, encouraged students focus on their strengths and engage in open communication.

Booths included Paint Your Art Out, which emphasized the mental health benefits that go along with making art and being creative; Thrive, which asked students to highlight their “superpowers,” or the things that make them great; and In It for Life, where students could reflect on and share the things that give them hope.

“While suicide prevention and mental health are heavy topics, Fresh Check Day aims to uplift students.”

All of the booths at Fresh Check Day were run by a combination of Clark students and staff members. Each booth had an educational or interactive activity that focused on a specific area of mental wellness.

“It is important for students to know how to care for themselves and others, what resources exist on campus, and who and where they can go for help.”
