Worcester Telegram & Gazette: Clark University area to get $2.3M in streetscape improvement project’

Clark University’s area of Main Street is set for an upgrade. A $2.3 million streetscape improvement project — which includes bike lanes, enhanced pedestrian crossings and improved traffic signaling, according to a recent article in Worcester Telegram & Gazette — will revamp the section of road between Beaver and Woodland streets. Work is expected to begin in summer 2017. Here, an excerpt: “The estimated $2.3 million project would span around 1,500 feet of Main Street from Beaver to Woodland streets. Frederick A. Moseley, a principal with Burlington-based design consultant Stantec, said the state Department of Transportation project would address motorist, cyclist and pedestrian safety, bring the area in compliance with the Americans with Disabilities Act, and improve the roadway itself. … Residents and university officials who attended the public hearing at the Higgins University Center at Clark supported the project.”
