Antisemitism has become a point of intense contention and division in our world. When does free speech cross over into discrimination? How can law help to define and mitigate antisemitism without slipping into efforts to curtail political dissent? How should antisemitism be distinguished from criticisms of Israel and of Zionism? This panel will explore the legal and political consequences of recent debates about antisemitism, as well as key moments in history that have shaped the current context. The panel will feature Marjorie Feld (Babson College) and Jonathan Feingold (Boston University). Frances Tanzer (Clark) will moderate the discussion.
