Expectations:
- Confidential Information: This includes student education records (protected by FERPA), private personnel or medical data (protected by HIPAA or state law), employment records data (including salary), donor records, non-public institutional financial or research data, and grant and proposal information.
- Non-Disclosure: Such information must be used only for authorized University business and may not be shared with any unauthorized person or entity, even after your employment ends.
- Legal Compliance: Nothing in this policy prohibits employees from discussing their own wages, hours, or working conditions, or exercising any rights protected under the National Labor Relations Act (NLRA) or applicable state law.
Unauthorized disclosure of confidential information may result in disciplinary action, up to and including termination of employment.
