Winter storm update

The snowstorm impacting Worcester is now tapering off, leaving significant accumulation of more than 20 inches in some parts of the area. With facilities in the lead, we are now in full cleanup mode. Please note the following updates and reminders:

Clearing campus

Facilities crews have been working diligently to clear campus, focusing their efforts first on interior passageways before turning their attention to the sidewalks at the perimeter. While there is some maneuverability around campus, it will take some time to complete the clearing. Please take care.

Also, many city streets are snow-covered and in some areas not passable. We encourage you to limit your driving on city streets, if you can.

Dining

Adjusted dining services hours remain as we shared yesterday:

  • The Table at Higgins has opened as scheduled at 7 a.m. for light breakfast. Full, hot breakfast will begin at 8:30 a.m.
  • The Bistro will open at 10 a.m.
  • The Cougar Café will be closed until at least noon and possibly all day. We will keep you posted as the schedule firms up.

Classes

Faculty are communicating directly with their students regarding any changes in the modality of classes (in person or remote).

Remote work

The University has asked all non-student-facing employees to work remotely. If you have questions or concerns, please contact your direct supervisor for guidance.

Events on campus

Be sure to check the University calendar, Clark Engage, and program webpages for event schedule changes.
