Immerse yourself in the dynamic and interdisciplinary field of Data Science with our comprehensive major program at Clark University, thoughtfully designed to equip students with a solid foundation and adaptable skills essential for navigating the rapidly evolving data landscape.

Clark offers a large variety of academic programs and supports students to pursue their interests through combinations of majors and minors in their chosen fields. Furthermore, our student clubs and growing data science alumni community provide enrichment activities, mentoring and networking opportunities. Our Data Science major comprises 8 units of core coursework covering key topics in data science and foundations in mathematics and computer science, ensuring every student acquires a robust base of general knowledge and skills applicable across various disciplines.

Beyond the core courses, the program offers a wide selection of electives, requiring students to complete required elective units. This flexibility allows students to select courses that align with their interests and career aspirations. As part of their elective choices, students must choose one of the distinct tracks available, each requiring at least four courses, including one advanced course at the 200-level. These tracks complement the core curriculum and enable students to develop domain-specific knowledge necessary for effectively applying data science.

Our interdisciplinary approach not only ensures that students gain a deep understanding of both theoretical and practical aspects but also fosters collaboration among faculty and student across various disciplines. Whether your interest lies in pursuing graduate studies or applying data science to fields such as health informatics, financial analytics, or environmental science, our program paves the way for you to become a proficient and insightful data science professional.
