Marketing and Communications Leadership Transition

Dear Faculty and Staff,

I write today with the news that Jill Friedman, our Vice President of Marketing and Communications, will be leaving Clark to accept the position of Vice Dean of Strategic Communications at the Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health in Boston. Jill’s last day at Clark will be August 21.

Jill joined Clark in September 2021, bringing with her a wealth of experience in higher education, government, and public relations. In her time here, Jill’s strategic mindset and collaborative approach have been essential in shaping efforts across all units to enhance our institutional profile among peers and prospective students and with the media; support admissions and fundraising initiatives; and communicate to the world why Clark matters. Thanks to Jill’s talents, partnership, and leadership, our story is being told to an ever-widening audience.

The position at Harvard gives Jill an opportunity to merge her expertise with her passion for public health at a time when access to quality care, and quality of life, is being profoundly challenged here and abroad. I have no doubt her impact will be as strongly felt at the Chan School as it has been at Clark.

As we wish Jill our very best in this worthy endeavor, we also welcome Jim Keogh into the role of Interim Vice President of Marketing and Communications. Since 2010, Jim has been a familiar and trusted presence in the Clark community as Associate Vice President for University Communications and as the longtime editor of Clark magazine and Clark News. He will be overseeing the Office of Marketing and Communications as we conduct a national search for Jill’s successor.

Again, I want to extend my deepest thanks to Jill for being such a dedicated colleague, and for her exceptional service on behalf of Clark.

Sincerely,

David Fithian
