Career Lab

If you would like to reach out to the Career Lab Coach who reviewed your document, please email careerlab@clarku.edu and use the heading “Question for [First Name]” in the subject line. Your Career Lab Coach will respond to you on the next day they are scheduled to work.

You can also message Career Lab Coaches directly through Handshake.

1. Select the “Students” tab at the top of the screen.
2. Use the search bar to find the Career Lab Coach you would like to contact.
3. Click the “Message” button to compose and send a message.

To get the most out of your appointment, please read through the on-demand resources related to your appointment topic in advance and make any revisions you are comfortable making on your own prior to meeting with Career Lab staff.

(Fall & Spring only) Drop by the Career Lab for help with your resume, cover letter, LinkedIn profile and help getting started with Handshake and ClarkCONNECT.

• Drop-in hours are from 12:00 noon to 4:00 p.m. Monday through Friday on the first floor of the ASEC Building.
• Appointments are on a first-come, first-served basis.
• Please sign in upon arrival.

Schedule a 30-minute virtual appointment with a Career Lab Coach to have your resume or cover letter reviewed.

• When prompted, write a detailed description of what you would like to accomplish during your meeting.
• If you need to cancel your appointment, please take the following steps:
  • Log into Handshake.
  • Go to “Career Center” then “Appointments”.
  • Select the appointment you would like to cancel and click the “Cancel Appointment” button.

SCHEDULE AN APPOINTMENT

You can submit your cover letter or resume for review by uploading it onto Handshake.

1. Log into Handshake.
2. Click your profile icon in the upper-right corner of the screen.
3. Select “Documents” from the drop-down menu then click the “Add a Document” button to upload your documents.
4. All documents added to your Handshake profile will be put into a queue to be reviewed by a member of the Career Lab staff.
5. Please allow 1-3 business days for your document to be reviewed.
6. You will receive an email when your review is complete. To view comments, log into Handshake, click on the document that has been reviewed, and scroll down to the bottom to view comments.
