Combined Languages, B.A.
Capstone Requirement
Typically completed in the first semester of senior year, the capstone in combined languages allows you to demonstrate your ability to interpret and analyze cultural works—literature, film, media, and more—in one or more of your chosen languages.
- Usually a 15-page research paper written in one of your target languages.
- Students focusing on French or Spanish may take the departmental capstone in that language; those focusing on an Asian language may take the Asian Studies capstone with instructor permission.
- Other 200-level language courses or directed studies may fulfill the capstone with adviser approval.
Honors Option
Students who excel in the capstone may extend their research into an honors thesis, a deeper project typically 30 pages or more completed in the final semester.
