Worcester Chamber Music Society continues its 20th Anniversary Season with an evocative program drawn from fin de siècle Vienna, a moment of radical transformation at the turn of the 20th century. Featuring Alban Berg’s Piano Sonata, Anton Webern’s Drei Stücke for cello and piano and Five Pieces for string quartet, and Arnold Schoenberg’s lush, expressionist masterpiece Verklärte Nacht, the concert traces the dissolution of Romanticism and the emergence of a bold new musical language. Performed by WCMS artists, the program offers an intimate and powerful exploration of emotional intensity, innovation, and the birth of musical modernism.
This event is free and open to the public.
