How can faculty establish clear expectations for AI use and respond when students use it inappropriately? We’ll examine different options for syllabus language and course policies, discuss AI detection tools and their limitations, and consider practical approaches to discouraging or reducing inappropriate AI use. Participants will have an opportunity to think about what policies make sense for their own courses and assignments, as well as ways to redesign assignments in light of students’ widespread access to AI.
Workshops will be led by Mark Jacobs, a Clark alum, part-time faculty member, and Faculty Fellow for AI Pedagogy. Mark has deep experience in teaching and learning and most recently has been developing the Soc-AI-tic Lab for Collaborative Pedagogy.
