The U.S. incarcerates more people than any other nation, the burden of which falls upon black, brown, indigenous, poor, and LGBTQ+ people. Join our panel of policy experts, all of whom are formerly incarcerated LGBTQ+ individuals. Panelists will share their personal journeys and how they are using law and policy to dismantle the prison system. Topics will include race, gender, sexuality, law, COVID, and possibilities under a new presidency.
This event will be moderated by Aaron Dorshow, President of the Petey Greene Volunteers at Clark. Panelists include Jennifer Love Williams (Jen Love, she/her), a formerly incarcerated black, trans woman who now serves as an activist for the formerly incarcerated subgroup of the National LGBT/HIV Criminal Justice Working Group; Michael Cox (he/him, Clark ’18), the Executive Director of Black & Pink Massachusetts; and Attorney Jen Jenkins (they/them), a Public Policy advocate and Community Co-Chair to the Hawai’i Department of Health’s Sex and Gender Minority Workgroups.
