New York City based artist and Higgins Visiting Artist this semester, Geoffrey Chadsey, presents via zoom. Geoffrey Chadsey describes himself as “a drawer with a background in photography who mimics painting. [My] drawings are rendered layerings of male-identified bodies and male-adjacent personas captured from social media, the internet, print media, and [my] own archive. [They] explore an unsettled self as it preens, performs and collapses for an observer, who may be an actual other person, or the mirror known as the selfie.”
