About the classes

Deidra Braz: Flexn is a street dance style that has Dancehall roots. After speaking on its history, I begin with Dancehall flows and a lot of loose rhythmic movement before touching on some fundamentals of Flexn.

J’Quan Oliver: Hip Hop is a community/culture. In this Street dance form,we’ll learn the history, it’s fundamentals and how it connects to other forms. If you wanna understand the dance you gotta understand the people. If you wanna understand the people, you will understand the culture.

Audra Carabetta:The Ballet Workshop will follow a traditional ballet class structure. Warm up begins at the barre, and is followed by center work, adagio, and petite and grand allegro. This class will focus on efficient alignment, developing and improving the traditional ballet line, and the increased understanding of the coordination, rhythm, and phrasing aspects of ballet technique and terminology. Students will also engage in the practice of somatic principles such as inner sensing, breath connectivity, awareness of habitual movement tendencies, and movement efficiency.
