Volume 2: A Conversation with Professor Suzanne Scoggins

Goddard Library is delighted to invite members of the Clark community, all interested alumni, friends, and members of our world community to the second volume of a new series dedicated to celebrating the works of Clark authors.
In Volume 2 of the series attendees will have the opportunity to hear about the life and work of Dr. Suzanne Scoggins through a conversation about her recent book, Policing China: Street-Level Cops in the Shadow of Protest (Cornell, 2021).

About the Author:
Dr. Scoggins is Assistant Professor of Political Science and Director of Clark’s Asian Studies program. She teaches courses on Chinese politics, research methods, comparative politics, and social movements. Her research interests include policing, protest management, bureaucratic politics, rights consciousness, and authoritarian control in reform era China.

Between the Lines is a Goddard Library speaker series co-sponsored by the Dean of the Faculty’s Office and is aimed at an audience of the curious, both within Clark and beyond. The purpose of the series is to celebrate Clark faculty scholarship through an Intellectually accessible conversation with the author about their life and work.
