Jonathan Ocon has a background in urban planning and design with 5+ years of experience as a practitioner in local government, work which led to his research interests studying the intersection of society and the environment with a particular interest in applying spatial analysis to management practices. Jon now specializes in remote sensing of the environment with a focus on socio-ecological systems. He is also an avid educator engaging students in best practices in geographic information science, geospatial programming, and cartography.
