SPS and Hong Kong Metropolitan University Li Ka Shing School of Professional and Continuing Education Partnership for Bachelor’s Degree Completion

Clark University’s School of Professional Studies (SPS) has partnered with the Hong Kong Metropolitan University Li Ka Shing School of Professional and Continuing Education (HKMU) to provide seamless transfer and transition for HKMU students to complete their bachelor’s degree through our Undergraduate Degree Completion Program.

Students from HKMU who successfully complete the Higher Diploma in Health Care (FHDHC) or Higher Diploma in Health and Molecular Testing (FHDHMT) program, and meet the Admission Requirements below, may seek admission to Clark’s Bachelor of Science in Biotechnology.

Please review the Transfer Map for details.

Scholarship

HKMU students who matriculate in Clark’s BIOT program will receive a 30% tuition scholarship to be applied to the BIOT program. Students must maintain a minimum cumulative Grade Point Average of 3.0 to maintain their scholarship eligibility.

Admission Requirements

HKMU students must have a minimum cumulative Grade Point Average (GPA) of 2.5 on a 4.0 scale, and must satisfy all application and admission requirements.

English Proficiency

Applicants must submit proof of English Language Proficiency:

  • TOEFL iBT: 85 overall, sub-score minimum of 20; or
  • IELTS: 6.5 overall, sub-score minimum of 6; or
  • Duolingo: 120, sub-score minimum of 100

The TOEFL/IELTS requirement may be waived for students who studied in the United States for four or more years of high school, or who completed a higher degree or a minimum of two years of full-time study at a university/college located in the United States or in another country where English is both the primary spoken language of daily life and the medium of instruction. Eligible students should request the waiver when they apply.

Students who do not qualify for such a waiver or are unable to demonstrate the required proficiency level at the time of application may alternatively demonstrate English language proficiency through completing Clark University’s English for Academic Success (EAS) program or Pathway Program. Students would be eligible for a 30% tuition scholarship to be automatically applied to their enrollment in the EAS or Pathway program.

Pathway to Graduate Studies

HKMU graduates who complete Clark’s BIOT program with a minimum overall GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale as part of this Agreement are eligible for general admission into a Clark School of Professional Studies graduate program. Specific graduate programs may require additional admissions criteria with specified application timelines. The application fee will be waived for program participants. Such graduates may qualify for scholarships to pursue their graduate studies.

How to Apply

HMKU students must submit their application and all required documents to Clark University no later than June 1 for fall admission and October 15 for spring admission.

The application fee will be waived for program participants by using the waiver code “CUHKMU.”
