Building worker’s power: Workers united at Brooklyn Strategist
Jennifer Taylor is a worker-organizer at the board game cafe Brooklyn Strategist. In late 2023, workers at Brooklyn Strategist joined those at three Hex & Co. locations as well as Uncommons to successfully demand union recognition. All of these workers have affiliated with Workers’ United, the union through which Starbucks workers have been organizing. Join Jennifer to hear about why they and their co-workers became active in organizing a union, how they and their co-workers achieved recognition for their union, and how the current phase of contract negotiations is playing out. The talk is being offered as part of the undergraduate course on Labor Geography, and is open to anyone in the Clark community interested in joining.
