Each year the Geography department hires students to staff our GIS Help Desk; a departmental resource that provides free, one-on-one tutoring and guidance to students seeking assistance in GIS programs and applications. The GIS Help Desk is currently offering help in-person in the Geography Main Office, Jefferson 220A, first office on the left.
GIS Help Desk hours follow a University schedule. If the University is closed (or if the Geography office is closed), the GIS Help Desk may be unavailable. Hours may be limited or extended during midterms/final exams. GIS Help Desk Assistants operate on a first-come, first-serve basis during posted hours. If you require a virtual session, please reach out to the Help Desk Assistant during their posted hours.
Contact us with any questions, or call the Geography Main Office at 1-508-793-7336 for more information. The GIS Help Desk is sponsored by the Graduate School of Geography at Clark University.
GIS Support Assistants (Fall 2025-Spring 2026)

My name is Ryan (he/him) and I am a fifth-year in the M.S. GIS program. Last year, I graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in Geography with a minor in Sociology. My research interests include urban studies, environmental justice, and gentrification, and I love using GIS to better understand those issues. I am excited to help out others with their GIS projects this year!

My name is Abbie (she/her), and I am a senior majoring in Geography and pursuing the 5th year M.S. GIS. My research interests include land use and land cover change and human–environment interactions, with a particular focus on coastal environments. I value GIS as a powerful tool across disciplines and look forward to helping fellow Clarkies build confidence in using it.
