The focus of the Clark University Grounds Department is to maintain and improve the overall appearance of the campus grounds. Experienced personnel work to ensure that the campus, athletic fields, and facilities look their best.
The Grounds Department is responsible for regular campus maintenance including; mowing, trimming, edging, blowing, removal of litter, removal of tree limbs & leaves, sweeping sidewalks, and parking lots, routine check and maintenance of the garbage receptacles and the smoking urns across campus.
The Grounds Department is also responsible for the landscaping. The regular care and maintenance would include; cutting, trimming, fertilizing, and the planting of shrubbery, trees, annuals, perennials, etc.
The Grounds Department is also responsible for the upkeep of the athletic fields. The regular care and maintenance would include; maintaining the sports equipment, mowing, raking the grass as required, lining and preparing the fields for athletic events, etc.
The Grounds Department is located in their shop; which is located in the lower level of the garage. The Grounds Department works Monday through Friday from 7:00am to 3:30pm. You can reach the Grounds Department by calling the Physical Plant department at extension 7566.
The Grounds Department is making efforts to go as green as possible. They have purchased a fertilizer mixture, which is 60/40 organic. They have also purchased other organic amendments. In the future they are striving to become all organic.
