Matt Bailey, an Australian entrepreneur and CEO of GameOn Entertainment Technologies, has agreed to head up the new Clark Tank – App Design Challenge portion of the ever-popular Clark Tank! This year the School of Management’s Entrepreneurship and Innovation Program added the app challenge to Clark Tank to encourage Clark University entrepreneurs to expand their interest in app design and entrepreneurship. The Clark Tank – App Design Challenge runs during module one of the spring 2022 semester!
As with the Venture Development portion of Clark Tank, the Clark Tank – App Design Challenge participants will enroll in a course, ENT222 Entrepreneurial Design Thinking (.5 units), this spring 2022 semester. The class is held on Monday mornings from 9 am-11:50 am and runs from January 24 through February 28, 2022 -once a week! Matt will teach the course as the foundation of designing an app and bringing it to market, with the intent of catching the eye of an investor. He will share a first-hand look at what it takes to survive and thrive in the world of entrepreneurship with his experiences serving as real-life examples! At the end of the course, Matt will assemble a panel of founders, investors, and advisors for the Clark Tank – App Design Challenge final pitch on February 28, 2022, with awards of up to $500!
Matt’s background started with a career in the sports business working for global brands like the Brooklyn Nets, Barclays Center, Cricket Australia, and CSM Sport & Entertainment. Matt founded game technology startup, GameOn Entertainment Technologies, in 2018 and is now publicly listed on the Canadian Securities Exchange in Canada. Since 2018, GameOn has raised more than $10 million in funding, gone through the world-renowned Techstars accelerator, and secured strategic partners and customers including Comcast, NBCUniversal, Times Internet, and Polygon. GameOn’s team and board include leaders from Dapper Labs, EA Sports, the Brooklyn Nets, Madison Square Garden, and Take-Two Interactive. Matt looks forward to sharing his entrepreneurial journey with the students of Clark through the Clark Tank – App Design Challenge and a speaker panel in late February 2022. We are excited to see what Matt is planning!!
All are welcome to attend the final pitch presentations on Monday, February 28th in Winton Faculty Dining Room starting at 9am!
