Students Bringing Synergia to Campus

AMA Chapter and Women in Business Club collaborate on conference for students

Synergia logoClark University’s Women in Business group and the school’s chapter of the American Marketing Association are teaming up to bring an expansive conference to students. Synergia 2022 – Bringing Passion with Possibilities – will be an all-day event held on campus that will include live sessions with business leaders from around the world.

Synergia is a business and marketing conference jointly hosted by the Clark University chapters of the American Marketing Association and Women in Business. Organized solely by the members of the two groups, the conference will bring speakers from Google, BCG, and Thinkargus, among other companies, to campus virtually and in person. Sessions will focus on the latest trends in business, marketing, digital media, consumer insights, and branding strategies and how these areas may be changing in the future. Students will have the opportunity to network with guests as well.

“We continue to be impressed by the work our students do to support each other,” assistant dean of student services in the School of Management, Laura Burgess, stated. “These two groups put an incredible amount of work into this conference – as well as numerous other events – to benefit students and their career aspirations.”

The Clark Women in Business group in particular has been actively engaged in the local community, having volunteered recently with Lift Worcester, a local organization offering shelter and support for area human trafficking victims. The group also provided volunteer support at a holiday Lift fundraiser, an experience shared in a story published in February.

In what is hopefully the first of many collaborations between the two groups, the Synergia conference is scheduled for Saturday, April 9, on Clark’s campus. Current guest speakers include:

Madeleyn Valenzuela, MBA, ’16, ’17, Communication Senior Associate, Google
Scott Zoback ‘04, ’05, Managing Director, ThinkArgus
Pat Cooper, Digital Marketing Planner, Vert Digital
Elnaz Karimi, Consultant, Boston-based financial consulting group
