Teacher talking to students

Stevenish Career Management Center

Through comprehensive resources, programs, and services, School of Business Stevenish Career Management Center provides professional development education that prepares graduate students to manage their careers over the course of their lifetime. We fulfill this work through engaged internal and external partnerships, career technology, high-touch customer service and a dedication to helping our students succeed.

You might attend a panel discussion with School of Business alumni who work in the analytics field, take a trip with your peers to the Bloomberg headquarters in New York City, or sharpen your skills with the new Professional Development Program, run in conjunction with Unum. In addition, each year the University’s Alumni-in-Residence day brings numerous Clark and School of Business alumni to campus for a day of career dialogue and networking for students. Thanks to the Hausrath fund, which was established by an alumnus, William Hausrath, ’53, to support student development, students can use funds to attend conferences or take part in educational opportunities on and off campus, such as:

  • The Beta Gamma Sigma honor society regional conference, which provides networking and learning opportunities for the highest achieving students
  • Harvard Women in Business Conference and India Conference

Our Services

Throughout your graduate program at School of Business, the professional career management staff will work with you to set goals, develop a career plan, and implement an effective internship and/or job search strategy. They conduct resume and cover letter review, and will help you tackle your LinkedIn profile. They also offer mock interviews to help you prepare for that next opportunity and provide advice on salary negotiations. The career center encourages students to attend trainings and workshops offered through the academic year.

School of Business students and alumni have access to employment and internship opportunities provided to us from employers through the use of the center’s online career system, Handshake. This system provides numerous career resources from internships to job opportunities. You can personally upload your resumes, cover letters, and update your personal profile, as well as apply to internships and full-time job opportunities. At the same time, employers are able to post openings and search through resumes that have been uploaded by our students.

If you are a current School of Business student you can log in using your Clark email address and password. If you are an School of Business alumnae/us, create an account here and select Clark University as your school. Your profile will be routed to Clark for approval.

Experiential Learning Requirement/Internships and CPT

Most graduate students must complete an experience in order to graduate. This is optional for Fulbright Scholars as well as MSM students who are not part of the ADP (i.e., fifth-year). Students may fulfill this requirement with a traditional internship, a series of micro-internships, online work simulations, relevant full-time work experience, or an offer of full-time work to commence after graduation. This document has details on the options.

Once you have decided which option to pursue, submit this form before you begin your experience. It will provide relevant instructions, including how to apply for CPT if it is needed for your experience. After you have completed your experience, return to the same form to confirm.

School of Business Stevenish Career Management Center welcomes employers and alumni to campus so students have a venue to meet with and learn from them. Students are encouraged to take advantage of these opportunities to explore various careers and industries, interact with key individuals, and discuss potential internship and job opportunities.

Employers and alumni engage in career networking and education activities such as:

  • The annual fall career fair
  • Alumni networking receptions
  • Industry career panels
  • Special speaker events held during scheduled classes

All SCMC events are listed on the School of Business events page.  Additional career events outside of School ofBusiness may be found in Handshake.
