  • Led by Mikayla Wynter, assistant director for diversity programs and multicultural counseling, the Center for Counseling and Personal Growth (CPG) has partnered with the Office of Multicultural and First Generation Student Support (MFGSS) and others on campus to create programming- and counseling-based support for students of color and other underrepresented student populations.

  • The Center for Counseling and Personal Growth (CPG) has implemented an anti-racist accountability program. Led by Mikayla Wynter, assistant director for diversity programs and multicultural counseling, the program bolsters CPG’s efforts to help staff address personal racial biases and gain a better overall multicultural understanding. Students complete post-session surveys after each appointment, providing feedback to help CPG monitor and correct possible microaggressions by therapists; staff and interns create monthly professional goals to improve anti-racist work practices and meet monthly to discuss progress on these goals; and CPG staff and interns enhance their training around multicultural counseling through weekly didactic seminars.

  • During fall 2020, the Center for Counseling and Personal Growth (CPG) launched multiple virtual drop-in discussion groups to help students connect during the COVID-19 pandemic. Several of these groups included topics based on student identity and concerns about issues on campus and around the world. CPG will continue to support students this spring through a virtual international student drop-in discussion group and a virtual drop-in general discussion group to focus on current concerns related to the student experience.
