Historical Background:
The Nazi occupation of Poland lasted from 1939-45, subsequently establishing Lublin as the central facilitator of Operation Reinhardt. Jewish-owned property was immediately seized upon Nazi arrival, forcing Jews into a nearby ghetto before majority deportation to Bełżec extermination camp.

The right-hand illustration of a stamp features Prime Minister Winston Churchill with a broken battleship on his head,  actively ridiculing both the British monarchy and its Navy. The illustration’s caption reads “Wert keiner pfennig,” or “Not worth a penny.”
