The Strassler Center for Holocaust and Genocide Studies trains students, educators, and activists to develop a sophisticated understanding of genocide. Offering the sole doctoral program in Holocaust History and Genocide Studies in conjunction with the History Department, a new doctoral program in Psychology of Genocide in conjunction with the Psychology Department, and a rich undergraduate program, the Center attracts students who seek to explore the factors that fuel genocide, possibilities for prevention, and long term sequelae. Interdisciplinary in nature, the program draws upon history, psychology, political science, international development, and geography.
