Happy Friday! Freud is getting ready to honor Juneteenth this weekend with renowned civil rights activist and Clark alumnus D’Army Bailey ’65 LL.D. ’10, P ’00.
Do you know where they are in this photo?
D’Army Bailey graduated from Clark University in 1965 and, over the course of the next 50 years, became a prominent civil rights activist, lawyer, judge, and author. His work and accomplishments continue to shape diversity and inclusion efforts across the nation and at Clark University.
The D’Army Bailey ’65 Diversity Fund supports initiatives and academic endeavors that advance and help sustain an inclusive and engaged campus. Over the last year, contributions to the fund have helped to:
* Launch the Bailey Scholars Grants Program
* Fund an alternative spring break trip, Bridging the Cultural Divide: From the U.S. to Ghana and Back Immersion Program
* Cultivate campus-wide efforts to create a more welcoming, engaged, and inclusive community for students
* Support CU Advance, a goal-centered mentorship and leadership development program for faculty, staff, and students of color
