Ryan Taylor Williams (GISDE '2014)

Ryan Taylor Williams (USA) received a B.A. in Urban Studies from the University of Texas at Austin. His motivation to come to Clark stems from a deep interest in environmental equity and his volunteer experiences working with disadvantaged communities in both urban and rural contexts of Mexico, South Africa, and the United States. His current academic and personal interests are the use of GIS and remote sensing for spatial analysis of the urban environment, urban demographics, and sustainable design modeling, evaluation and development. He has worked as a geographic consultant for Seven Hills Global Outreach, a data coordinator and Teaching Fellow at Citizen Schools, and as a freelance planner at DesignTank. He hopes to use GIS to make the world a more transparent, cooperative, and connected place.
